With stocks tanking and Facebook breaking the Nasdaq, we’ve been watching another market over the last few days… plain, boring old Wheat. In the last four days, it’s been anything but boring.
Here’s hoping the markets “Go to Zero”
One of odd things about being in an investment which can do well when markets are down is that you find yourselves at times cheering the market to go to zero. While we don’t actually want market to go all the way to zero, a nice crisis sending markets into sustained downtrends would be a welcome sight for most in the managed futures world.
Spain’s “Running of the Bear”
Spain’s market has set a new 9-year low, and we can’t help but wonder what this could mean for the Euro, the rest of Europe, and potentially even markets in the US.
Managed Futures Drawdowns- Been There, Done That
Drawdowns are part of investing, as are letters from managers reassuring investors to stick through the rough patch. Covenant Capital Management recently released just such a letter, but included a unique look at their history that caught our eye.

The mention of market based performance (i.e. Corn was up 5% today) reflects all available information as of the time and date of the publication.
